Surviving Their Adolescence

Have you ever wondered what is going on in the brains of the teens and tweens in your life? Are you interested in gaining skills and knowledge to help you in supporting their emotional growth and safety?

Ketchikan Gateway Borough School in partnership with Ketchikan Public Health, Ketchikan Wellness Coalition, Peace Health, WISH, and Revilla Island Resilience Initiative are pleased to present a two-evening event to help all community members who work with adolescents to increase their toolkit!

Monday night will feature Dr. Linda Chamberlain, a world-renowned researcher, presenting research on the "Amazing Adolescent Brain" and skills to encourage self-regulation and emotional development.

Tuesday night will feature Wendy DeGaffenried, to discuss strategies for creating trauma-sensitive spaces through mindfulness and resilience strategies.

Additional presentations include: internet/cyber safety, sexual assault awareness and prevention, adolescent mental health, nutrition, teen sexual health and development, e-cigs and vaping, and more! Full schedule available at www.kgbsd.org
